Fyre-Can sleeve is a prefabricated intumescent device utilized to firestop combustible pipe penetrations through wall assemblies.  The pre-fabricated Fyre-Can sleeve is comprised of an outer 26 gauge metallic sleeve with fold-in tabs on both ends and a centered stainless steel hose clamp attachment.  Contained within the Fyre-Can sleeve are the necessary amount of TREMstop WS (intumescent wrap strip) necessary to treat the specific pipe diameter.  Fyre-Can sleeve is available in sizes ranging from 1.5" to 12" (3.8cm to 30.5cm), where the size is related to a standard industry pipe diameter.  Fyre-Can sleeve is also available in two different lengths 8" and 12" (20.3cm and 30.5cm) to match the wall thickness.   The primary benefit of Fyre-Can sleeve is to provide labor and material savings for a contractor treating combustible pipe penetrations.  However the Fyre-Can sleeve contains the intumescent wrap strip in the center of the device, so only one device is needed to treat the pipe, where an intumescent collar would require two, one for each side of the wall.  Fyre-Can sleeve is also ideal for pipe penetrations exiting walls to acute angles.  For drywall applications, Fyre-Can sleeve can be attached the combustible pipe before the drywall is completed, simply building the wall around the device.
